I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the constant stream of news and thoughts about the crises facing our planet - climate change, species extinction, ocean acidification, habitat loss, plastic pollution... the list feels endless. These issues weigh heavily on my mind, and so does the urgency to act.
But knowing how to make a real difference when it comes to particular issues can be challenging. For example, I use plastic-free alternatives to reduce plastic pollution, drive less and eat less meat to reduce my contribution to climate change, but when it comes to species extinction and habitat destruction, I’ve often wondered: What can I actually do?
Recently, Australia’s Biggest Bushwalk, run by the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF), popped up in my feed. It felt like the perfect opportunity to turn my concern into action - combining something I enjoy (walking and running!) whilst raising funds and awareness to help protect Australia’s precious wildlife from extinction.
So, throughout May, I’m walking/running 200 km as part of Australia’s Biggest Bushwalk to raise vital funds for ACF’s work to safeguard threatened native species from threats such as habitat destruction and climate change.
If you'd like to support this important cause, you can donate via the link below. Every dollar, big or small, truly makes a difference. Together, we can help protect native species from extinction!

There’s no single “right” way to protect the planet - what matters is finding what lights you up and makes you feel part of the solution. If each of us makes even small, positive changes in our daily lives, together we can create a powerful ripple effect that will have a massive impact!
